“Sometimes, what you’re looking for is already there.” The world seems to be falling apart, or is it just rebuilding the mess we’ve made? Yes, sadness and sickness are surrounding us, but the birds are singing, the skies are blue and the worlds repairing itself for me and you. For all the negatives associated with the present day, it has forced us all to stop. Think. Be. There’s spending time with loved ones that you normally pass at the front door. There’s being thankful for your body, it’s strength and capability. There’s appreciating nature because it’s allowing you to be outside. The 9 to 5 that’s usually a marathon is a momentary dream. There's appreciating the very basics that we take for granted every day. Health, freedom, friends, family, movement. Notice that these things we take for granted are the things that cost nothing. The things that are right in front of us, every day. Except we take no time to show them gratitude or time. Now, when all you have is time, why not take a moment to think about what in life you need. Re-evaluate your necessities. If you’re lucky enough to be isolated with your still healthy family, could you want for anymore? The future is unknown. Uncertain. What is certain. Are those around you. Those close to you. They’re undoubtedly your happiness. Although the current state of affairs isn’t ideal, I can’t help but think of it as an opportunity to be thankful. Thankful to be a part of something more. Thankful to be a part of something good and thankful that one day, in the not so distant future, I’ll sit down with all of those people I can’t currently be near, hold them close and thank the world for giving us another opportunity to do better. Love in abundance. L.
